Kindergarten bibliography

Reading to your child daily is the best way to prepare them for school. This booklet recommends books to correspond with each of the curriculum areas covered in kindergarten in the Warwick schools. This list is a starting place. There are many more great books in each of these subject areas and a librarian can give you additional recommendations.

As you read, encourage your child to react to the story, relate personal experiences to characters in the book and join in with sound effects and to complete predictable sentences. Children learn through repetition so reading the story every night for a week is okay. And above all else have fun.
