Pre-school
StorytimesWe offer weekly storytimes for 3, 4 and 5 year olds. The stories are chosen by a children’s librarian to be developmentally appropriate for preschoolers. Stories for 5 year olds will typically be a little longer with more characters than those read to 3 year olds. Each storytime includes songs and fingerplays to encourage your child’s verbal development, ability to follow directions and to interact with a group of peers. Stories are held on: Monday at 9:45 for ages 3 – 5 with a parent Tuesday at 7:00 for ages 3 – 7 with a parent Thursday at 10:30 for 3 – 5 year olds attending alone No Registration is required. Getting Ready for KindergartenChildren who will begin kindergarten in the fall of 2012 can pick up a copy of the Getting Ready for Kindergarten Calendar at the Children’s Desk. This calendar was developed by a group of RI children’s librarians and early childhood specialists and includes stories and activities for you and your child. |
