Start a Purple Martin Colony in Your Backyard: An Online Event

A Purple Martin (photo credit: Gregory Gough, Smithsonian’s National Zoo)

Join Warwick citizen scientist Lois Graydon for an online presentation on Purple Martins, the largest swallows in North America, on Monday, June 14 at 7 p.m.

Purple Martins are aerial insect-eating birds who migrate up to 5000 miles from South America to the US and Canada.

Purple Martins have lost 1/3 of their population in the last 50 years. Learn how to help conserve Purple Martins and explore the lives of these beautiful American songbirds.
