The Origin and Legacy of the Recorded Blues

Join Warwick musicologist Lloyd Kaplan for a two-part presentation on the Origin and Legacy of the Recorded Blues.

On April 25, discover how the blues became popular, who made it popular, who were the major blues stars, and how blues recordings started the race records industry.

On May 2, explore the influence of the blues on other musical genres, including country, Broadway, and classical music.

This event is free and open to all. Drop in for a fun time.
