Writing Workshop for Teens

For students in grades 7-12


Local author, Darcie Dennigan, will help you get started on your tale and offer helpful tips.  Then finish your work at home and submit it in the Write Rhode Island 2018 competion for a chance to win cash prizes, be published in Write Rhode Island!’s 2018 anthology, and have opportunities to read your story around the state*. All you have to do is write one great story!

About the Author:  Darcie Dennigan earned her BA in literature from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and an MFA from the University of Michigan.  Her poetry collect Corinna A-Maying the Apocalypse (2008) was winner of the Poets Out Loud,  Dennigan was a 2007 Discovery/The Nation winner; her other awards include the Cecil Hemley Award from the Poetry Society of America and a Rhode Island State Council of the Arts Poetry Fellowship. 

She has been an assistant professor in residence at the University of Connecticut and is a cofounder of Frequency Writers: A Writing Commuinty for Providence & Beyond, based in Providence, RI, where she lives.
